Rename the sorted files in both directories

Duplicate this process for both directories L and R

Do not do them at the same time!

Here is a view of Renamer with all the images added

* ensure that you SORT by NAME, click on it a couple of times
* deselect thumbs from this list
* there should be NO other files other than your image files (and thumbs) in this directory

DELETE all of the file name
*ensure the whole filename is deleted (here I selected 13 characters, probably too many, but it doesn't matter as long as it's at least enough.
*do not delete the extension, ensure that "skip extension" is selected, this will leave jpg attached and unaltered.

SERIALIZE order starting at 0002 here (this leaves room for a file named 0001.jpg more later on that file)
*ensure that you PAD TO LENGTH 4 is good. Otherwise you will have a non-computer friendly list of names for your images.

INSERT: something descriptive. 0001.jpg is very undescriptive, so adding something to the beginning of the file name is recommended.

Here is a view of the 3 rules, the order they are applied in (which is important) and a preview of how the files will be renamed.
*looks good, hit >Rename

A Padding note: All the 0's that you see preceeding the number, like the 3 0's before 2.JPG or 00 before 11.JPG help windows explorer to sort in numerical order.
After you do this for one directory...
delete all the images in the "lower box" of Renamer, so that it says, "Drag your files here"
Drag your files from "the other directory" which you havn't renamed yet, keep all the rules, because they are identical.

SORT by NAME the same way as you did with the previous sequence
click preview, then rename.
you should have a R directory and a L directory with EXACTLY the same file names for the same 'stereo' pairs.
